A Veteran Litigator

For over 23 years, Mark Shepherd has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of civil litigation. He represents individuals in wrongful death, personal injury, product liability and medical negligence cases. His employment law focus includes discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination. He also represents health care providers in licensing and disciplinary actions.

Mark has been called upon to represent a Nobel Prize winner, physicians, hospitals, internationally renowned research facilities and large manufacturers. He obtained substantial trial experience in his first 10 years of practice, primarily as a defense attorney. But it is his role as a defender of the underdog that gives him the most satisfaction. In the mid-nineties, Mark began to work as a plaintiff’s trial attorney. Most of his practice now involves protecting the rights of victims of negligence or discrimination. In the past ten years, Mark has protected the rights of clients from five continents and from multiple states around the country.

Improving Clients’ Lives

As a founding member of the firm, Mark is proud of the record Larson Hart & Shepherd, PLLC has built helping clients: A family left fatherless by a factory explosion; a man who spoke no English and had his foot nearly chewed off by a police dog during an unnecessarily brutal arrest; an Ethiopian man who had suffered racial slurs and discrimination in the workplace; women sexually harassed at work; hundreds of people who suffered heart damage from a diet drug; a migrant family torn apart when their family members were injured and others killed in a horrible collision.

It’s an unfortunate fact that people can suffer serious harm, or death, from traffic accidents, faulty products or negligence. “We can’t return a severed limb, or heal scarred lungs. There is no way to turn back the hands of time. Our goal is to help our clients pay the medical bills, recover their lost wages, and obtain fair compensation for what they have suffered.”

In addition to providing hundreds of hours of pro-bono work to individuals and organizations in the past 20 years, Mark also provides a free initial consultation to help potential clients decide whether to pursue a case. “I see people whose lives have been damaged. I work to level the playing field for them.”

Mark has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating a lawyer can obtain. Confidential opinions from members of the bar have confirmed his very high to preeminent legal ability and exceptional ethical standards.
